چکیده

From the biochemical standpoint, perhaps the most striking effect of ionizing radiations on living systems involves a defect in the metabolism of the nucleic acids. Thus, one can cite a large number of observations in the literature (1, 18, 14, 16, @8) which state that the incorporation of a variety of labeled precursor substances (inorganic phos phate, formate, NaHCO5, glycine) into tissue desoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is markedly in hibited following the exposure of laboratory ani mals to x-radiation. The inhibition appears to be most pronounced in tissues with high DNA re newal rates (1@) and rapid cell turnover, such as spleen, bone marrow, intestinal mucosa, and thymus. It is of interest, furthermore, that this inhibitory effect of ionizing radiations is rather

Transplantation and Homing of Mouse Embryonic Stem Cells Treated with Erythropoietin in Spleen and Liver of irradiated mice

Background: The present study was designed to evaluate the homing potential of mouse embryonic stem cells (ESC) treated with erythropoietin (EPO) in hematopoietic organs such as spleen and liver after transplantation using morphological and immuno-histochemical techniques. Methods: Day-four embryoid body (EB)-derived cells were dissociated and re-plated in medium in the presence and absence of ...

Protective effects of sulfated derivatives of polysaccharides extracted from Auricularia auricular on hematologic injury induced by radiation

Background: Ionizing radiation induces the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which play an important causative role in cell death. The aim of this study was to investigate the protective effects of sulfated derivatives of neutral polysaccharides extracted from Auricularia auricular (SNAAP). Materials and Methods: Whole blood samples from healthy donors treated with SNAAP at differen...

Expression of pro-inflammatory genes in lesions, spleens and blood neutrophils after burn injuries in mice treated with silver sulfodiazine

Objective(s): It is now supposed that cytokines released during the burn injuries have a great impact on the immunological and pathological responses after the burn. The main objective of this study was to investigate the expression of some pro-inflammatory genes in the wound, spleen and blood neutrophils during the healing process of burn wounds in a murine model. Materials and Methods: The ex...

Evaluation of proliferation and survival of spleen immune cells treated by Deacetylchitin nanoparticles on breast cancer mouse model

Background & Aims: Breast cancer is the most common carcinoma in women and one of the main causes of death in developed and developing countries. Today, compounds with immunolodulator properties can be replaced with routine drugs. One of them is Deacetylchitin. This study aimed to evaluate proliferation and survival of spleen immune cells treated by Deacetylchitin nanoparticles on breast c...

Dose-Dependent Estrous Cycle, Ovarian Follicles and Biochemical Contents Reversal in Albino Mice after Exposure to Mancozeb.

Mancozeb, a fungicide of a manganese-zinc ethylenebisdithio-carbamate (EBDC), was administered by gavage at doses of 200, 400, 600 and 800 mg/kg/day to female virgin mice for 30 days. The mice were autopsied on 31st day. Mice were also treated with similar doses for a period of 30 days and the treatment was withdrawn for a further period of 30 days for reversible study. The mice were autopsied...
